BlueLavage® is an innovative lavage system for cleaning the surgical site, developed for everyday use in orthopaedics, arthroplasty and trauma surgery.

BlueLavage® combines full lavage performance with a consistently sustainable system concept. After the procedure, the drive unit is neither disposed of nor subjected to complex sterilisation—it is simply recharged and ready for reuse.

After surgery, only the patient-contacting plastic components are disposed of.

This reduces disposal requirements, saves an estimated €0.80 per operation and, in the long term, prevents large amounts of electronic waste.

At the same time, BlueLavage® generates 65% less CO₂ than comparable conventional systems and offers intuitive handling with minimal training requirements.

How BlueLavage® works

Einlegen der Antriebseinheit ("DriveUnit") in das Handstück der Pulse Lavage — 1. The circulating nurse inserts the rechargeable DriveUnit into the BlueLavage® handpiece while the scrub nurse holds it in place. The blue, sterile insertion aid ensures sterility during this process.

Nutzung des Lavage-Systems — 2. The insertion aid is removed and the lid of the handpiece is closed. The BlueLavage® is then used for intraoperative irrigation and cleaning of the surgical site.

Herausnehmen der wiederaufladbaren DriveUnit — 3. After completion of the procedure, the circulating nurse removes the rechargeable DriveUnit, which contains all electronic components, from the BlueLavage® single-use handpiece.

Wiederaufladen der Bluelavage-DriveUnit — 4. The DriveUnit is cleaned by wipe disinfection and recharged. As a result, no electronic waste enters the hospital waste stream, saving significant amounts of CO₂ and disposal costs.
